Size: Lamb & Amaranth
Description

For dogs with a suspected food intolerance, an exclusion diet with a genuinely short ingredient list is often the starting point a vet recommends. animonda Integra Protect Dog Sensitive uses lamb as its only animal protein and amaranth as its only plant protein — nothing else to complicate an elimination trial.

These 400g tins suit medium and larger dogs, and the recipe includes rapeseed oil for essential fatty acids.

Important — please read before ordering

  • Please consult your vet before feeding your pet with a veterinary diet. Your vet will be able to give further information and advice on possible treatment.
  • When feeding your pet with a veterinary diet, you should take your pet to the vet for a check-up at least every 6 months.
  • If your pet's health worsens while using this product, please seek veterinary advice immediately.
  • By adding this product to your shopping basket you are confirming that you have read and understood the above information.

Frequently asked questions

What's an exclusion diet and why does my vet want me to try one?
An exclusion diet feeds a single novel protein for several weeks to see whether symptoms improve, which helps identify whether food is the trigger. Using a tightly controlled recipe like this one makes the trial meaningful.

Why lamb and amaranth specifically?
Both are less commonly used in standard dog foods, which makes them useful "novel" ingredients your dog is less likely to have been previously exposed to.

Can I use this long term, or just for the trial?
It's formulated as a complete food, so it can be fed longer term once your vet confirms your dog does well on it. Ongoing use should still be reviewed with your vet.

How does this differ from the 150g tray version?
The 150g trays use chicken and parsnip; this 400g tin uses lamb and amaranth. If your dog needs to avoid chicken specifically, this is the more suitable option — always check the ingredient list before switching.

Care

General Care & Storage
To get the most out of your Petszo delivery, please keep the following in mind:

  • Edibles: Keep food and treats tightly sealed and stored in a cool, dry environment.
  • Fabrics & Beds: Gently wipe clean or wash at 30ºC (always check the individual label first). Do not bleach.
  • Safety First: Regularly check toys and accessories for damage and remove them if broken.
  • Note: Always refer to the specific packaging for exact instructions.

Getting the most out of your Petszo order comes down to storing things properly and checking them regularly. Here's what matters.

Food and treats

Keep dry food tightly sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Resealing the bag or transferring it to an airtight container helps stop the fats going stale, which is the usual reason a dog or cat suddenly goes off a food they previously liked.

Opened wet food should be covered and refrigerated, and used within about 24 hours. Serve it at room temperature rather than straight from the fridge — cold food is noticeably less appealing to most pets and can be harder on sensitive stomachs.

Many treat pouches contain a small oxygen absorber sachet to keep the contents fresh. This isn't edible — remove and discard it before giving your pet the treat.

Beds, blankets and fabric items

Most fabric items can be gently wiped clean or machine washed at 30°C, but always check the individual care label first — padding and covers vary between products. Don't use bleach, as residue can irritate skin and paws.

Removable covers are worth washing more often than you'd think, particularly for pets with skin sensitivities.

Toys and chews

Check toys and accessories regularly for damage, and remove anything that's cracked, split or losing pieces. Small fragments are a genuine choking and blockage risk.

Always supervise your pet with chews and rawhide products, and take away any piece small enough to be swallowed whole. Match the chew size to your pet — a chew intended for a small dog won't last long with a large one, and creates more risk.

Harnesses, collars and leads

Check the fit periodically, especially on growing puppies and kittens. As a rule you should be able to slide two fingers comfortably under any strap — tighter risks rubbing, looser risks your pet backing out of it.

Inspect stitching, buckles and clips for wear, and replace anything showing damage before it fails on a walk.

Litter trays and small pet enclosures

Scoop clumping litter daily and top up as needed; a full change every 1–2 weeks is typical, more often with several cats sharing a tray. Clean the tray itself with hot water and mild detergent rather than strong disinfectants, some of which are toxic to cats.

For small pet enclosures, spot-clean soiled bedding daily and do a full change weekly.

Switching foods

Introduce any new food gradually over roughly 7–10 days, mixing increasing amounts into the current food. Sudden changes are one of the most common causes of digestive upset, and it's easily avoided.

Always check the product packaging. The guidance here is general — individual products carry their own storage, washing and feeding instructions, and those take precedence. If you're unsure about something, or your pet has a specific health condition, speak to your vet.

Delivery

How long will my order take to arrive?

We aim to dispatch orders within 1–7 business days of you placing them. Delivery time after dispatch depends on the shipping method chosen at checkout. You'll receive tracking details by email once your order is on its way, so you can follow its progress with the carrier.

Do you offer free delivery?

Yes — delivery is free on all UK orders over £59.99. Orders below that threshold are charged at the rate shown at checkout before you pay.

Where do you deliver?

We currently deliver within the United Kingdom only. We don't ship internationally at present. Please note that a small number of items are shipped from outside the UK and may take a little longer to arrive — this is noted on the individual product page where it applies.

What if my order is late?

Carrier delays occasionally happen, particularly around public holidays or in bad weather. If your order hasn't arrived within the expected timeframe, get in touch with your order number and we'll chase it. If a package is confirmed lost or significantly delayed by the courier, we'll send a replacement or issue a refund.

How do I track my order?

Once your order ships, we email you tracking details. Use these to check live delivery status directly with the carrier.

Returns & refunds

Can I return something if I change my mind?

Yes. Under UK consumer law you have 14 days from receiving your order to tell us you'd like to cancel, and a further 14 days to send the items back. Items need to be unused, in their original packaging and in the condition you received them. Return postage for change-of-mind returns is at your cost. Full details are in our Refund & Return Policy.

What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?

We'll put it right. Under UK law you have up to 30 days to reject a faulty item for a full refund. For transit damage, contact us ideally within 48 hours of delivery with photos of both the item and the packaging. We cover return postage on faulty or incorrect items and will offer a full refund or a replacement.

Are there items I can't return?

For hygiene and safety reasons, opened or unsealed pet food and treats, used grooming products, personalised items and gift cards can't be returned unless they're faulty.

How long do refunds take?

Once we've received and inspected your return, we'll let you know whether it's approved. Approved refunds are processed within 14 days of us receiving the goods, back to your original payment method.

Can I cancel an order before it ships?

Yes — email support@petszo.co.uk with your order number any time before dispatch. If it's already gone out, you can return it under the 14-day change-of-mind period once it arrives.

Products

Do I need a prescription for veterinary diets?

No prescription is legally required in the UK to buy veterinary diet foods. However, these products are formulated for diagnosed conditions, so we strongly recommend speaking to your vet before starting one — and having your pet checked at least every six months while feeding it. If your pet's health worsens, seek veterinary advice straight away.

How should I switch my pet to a new food?

Gradually, over roughly 7–10 days. Mix a small amount of the new food into the current one and increase the proportion each day. Switching abruptly is a common cause of digestive upset.

How do I store pet food once it's open?

Keep dry food in a cool, dry place, ideally resealed or in an airtight container to stop the fats going stale. Opened wet food should go in the fridge and be used within about 24 hours. Always check the individual packaging, as some products have specific requirements.

Shipping & Returns

Last updated: 16 August 2026

This policy explains how we process, dispatch and deliver orders, and what to do if something goes wrong.

1. Delivery charges

Delivery is free on all UK orders over £59.99. For orders below that value, the delivery charge is calculated and shown at checkout before you complete your purchase — you'll never be charged an amount you haven't seen first.

2. Order processing and dispatch

We aim to dispatch orders within 1–7 business days of the order being placed. Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding UK public holidays.

Once your order has been processed you'll receive a confirmation email, followed by tracking details where available.

3. Delivery times

Time in transit after dispatch depends on the delivery method selected at checkout and your location. Total time to receive your order is therefore the dispatch window above plus the carrier's transit time.

A small number of products are shipped from outside the UK and take longer to arrive. Where this applies, it is stated clearly on the individual product page.

4. Delivery area

We currently deliver within the United Kingdom only. We do not offer international shipping at present.

Please note that a small number of bulky items cannot be delivered to Northern Ireland. Where this restriction applies, it is noted on the product page.

5. Tracking your order

Once your order ships, we'll email you tracking information where available. You can use this to check the live delivery status directly with the carrier.

6. Delays

Some delays are outside our control — carrier backlogs, severe weather, and public holidays being the most common. If your order hasn't arrived within the expected timeframe, please contact us with your order number and we'll investigate.

If a package is confirmed lost or significantly delayed by the courier, we will send a replacement or issue a refund.

7. Incorrect delivery addresses

Please check your delivery address carefully at checkout. If you spot a mistake, contact us immediately — we can usually correct it before dispatch. Once an order has shipped to an address you provided, we may not be able to recover it.

Horse and Amaranth.

Neither of the dogs is particularly keen on eating it, and the one with allergies is still scratching a bit. But allergies are always quite specific, aren't they?

Animonda Integra

I can only say thank you. Finally, a decent food. My dog used to always have diarrhoea and weighed only 4.7 kilos. Now he's doing well at 6 kilos. I read that there's also kangaroo with amaranth. Please add it to the range.

Kangaroo missing

Great food, such a shame that the kangaroo variety isn't available on PetsZo. We hope it gets added at some point...

Cheap and Cheerful

I have two large dogs with a food allergy. \n,Finally, I’ve found a canned food that isn’t ridiculously expensive and still suits my dogs well. I buy Animonda Horse and Amaranth. It would just be very desirable if these cans were also available in 800-gram sizes. With two large dogs, I need at least eight of the 400-gram cans every day. That creates a lot of waste, which I’d like to avoid. Otherwise, I’m very happy with the food.

Well...

My little one with a food allergy unfortunately did NOT tolerate the food: terrible bloating and then complete diarrhoea.... My "big one" tolerated the food poorly; bloating, but no diarrhoea.... \n,I’ll stick to my "usual" wet food brands; "Herrmann's", "Rinti", etc.

Very satisfied.

I was looking for an alternative to Rocco Sensibel because this variety contains too much jelly for my liking. I came across Animonda Horse Amaranth and am very satisfied. The food is well tolerated, results in proper stools, and is eaten eagerly. The price is fine – it's more expensive than Rocco, but it doesn't have the indigestible jelly.

Strange consistency

I fed Integra Protect Sensitive (600g) for a while and was puzzled by the varying consistency – depending on the tin. In one tin, the food was dark, spongy, and not very appetising, while in the next tin it was light and so compact that it was almost impossible to get it out of the tin. I won’t be giving this food to my dogs anymore.

A CHANGE

I tried my 16yr old terrier on this mainly to give her a change, as she has been having integra protect intestinal 3 times a day. She has colitis/I.B.S. Her vet put her on a prescription diet of ID but she would refuse to eat it. The consistency was always like thick porridge, and, poor little girl would always choke on it.I was a little concerned trying a new food as she was doing well on the integra intestinal.Well i did and have never regretted it.She loves it and will clean her dish in one go, but more importantly she can digest it with no nasty problems after she's eaten it.It also smells delicious.

Animonda is always good

I tried the sensitive one for my 7 year old dog, he occasionally has intestinal problems due to ingredients in foods. Mixed with his normal dry food this solved his problems immediately.

Recommend!!!!!!

My dog has allergies and unfortunately it's very hard to find a food that he will eat. From time to time I try to change his food and I must say that I really liked this one. There are no problems with the digestion, and it also has a very pleasant smell like actual food, especially this turkey and rice variety!

diet-sensitive Miniature Pinscher

Our dog has been eating this food for three years now, and the days when we spent more money on the vet than on food are over. \n\n,Simply great food! It only contains what’s listed on the label.

Our dog has been eating this food for three years we have saved so much money by getting it cheaper than at the vets! Just great food! And it only contains what the ingredients say.

Wonderful product

I mainly use the horse and amaranth variety and my Shar Pei is usually picky but loves this one! I think it's great. I tried the other flavours but he prefers the horse one.

well tolerated for sensitive skin

Our female dog (mongrel, now 11 years old) has developed a food allergy in the last 3 years that manifests mainly on her skin. She scratched her arms to the point they were raw and bare. First we gave her Hills z/d for food allergies. The scratching stopped, and her fur became shiny and silky smooth again. Then I started looking for a slightly cheaper option. I started Integra Sensitive mixed with the dry Hills, and it turns out she loves wet food. The bowl is squeaky clean after every meal and she tolerates it really well. Our allergy problem is solved, thank you Integra! I must confess when I realised it was Animonda brand I was surprised what good quality it was. My cats have urinary problems so I tried them on the Integra Urinary diet for cats and this was also really successful.

Well tolerated by sensitive skin

Our mixed-breed dog, now 11 years old, developed a food allergy over the past three years, which showed up on her skin. The poor thing was scratching and rubbing herself, and some areas were sore and bald. At first, we gave her the Hill's z/d allergy food recommended by the vet. We also added plenty of fish and nut oil for her coat. The scratching stopped, her coat is shiny again, and it's silky soft. Now, I started looking for a slightly more affordable option, as the small cans from Hill's are quite expensive (around €7.00/kg). Three weeks ago, I began supplementing Hill's dry food with Integra Sensitive. It's at least half the price. Our dog simply loves canned food. She tolerates this Animonda food very well and really enjoys it. I don't even need to wash her food bowl anymore because she licks it completely clean. Our allergy (skin) problem is solved. Thank you, Animonda. \n\n,I must admit, when I first read "Animonda," I was sceptical. But the results with this special INTEGRA food are truly excellent. \n\n,The same goes for our cats. They have urinary stone issues, and I'm always on the lookout for wet food that fits their diet and that they actually like. The Integra Struvit is always eaten up completely.

Not the most tasty

Great wet food for dogs with allergies or diarrhoea. The only drawback is that my dog is a bit picky with it and tends to only eat about half of the bowl.

A

Very good food

Our husky loves this food the most and tolerates it very well. It's just a shame that at the moment you can't get the medium-sized cans, only the very small ones or the large ones, where the lids don't fit.

very good food

Our Husky likes this food and she tolerates it really well. It is a pity that can only get very small or very large cans.

A

Unfortunately, not suitable for my dog!

I have a dog with food allergies and mainly feed fresh horse meat, canned food, and dry food. I had hoped this food would allow me to switch to a "more affordable" price range, as horse meat from "Boos," "Hermann," "Exclusion," "Lunderland," etc., is much more expensive! \n,I already found it odd that the can only lists "horse" as the content without providing any further details! \n,What exactly from the horse, please??? I'll keep it brief: after just the first feeding, my dog had terrible flatulence! After the second and final feeding of this food—never again!—severe, watery diarrhoea!! I'll stick to the more expensive, high-quality products. Conclusion: Animonda, no thank you!
