Description

Cats that groom heavily swallow a lot of fur, and some of it doesn't pass through cleanly. Royal Canin Hairball Care in Gravy is formulated with psyllium mucilloid, a soluble fibre that lubricates the gut and helps move swallowed hair through rather than letting it accumulate.

Why your cat will benefit

  • Psyllium mucilloid promotes natural intestinal transit of swallowed hair — less retching, fewer hairballs brought up.
  • Highly digestible proteins, so more nutrients are absorbed and less undigested matter stays in the gut.
  • Balanced fibre content to support healthy stool quality alongside the hairball management.
  • Complete and balanced — suitable as an everyday food, not just an occasional supplement.

Features & specification

  • Complete wet food for adult cats, in pouches.
  • In gravy format — the extra moisture helps with hydration and intestinal transit.

FAQ

Will this stop hairballs completely?
It reduces the frequency and severity for most cats, but heavy moulters or cats that over-groom due to stress may still produce some. Regular brushing alongside dietary management helps most.

Can I feed this alongside Royal Canin dry food?
Yes, it's designed to complement Royal Canin dry food as part of a mixed diet.

Delivered across the UK — free delivery on orders over £59.99.

Care

General Care & Storage
To get the most out of your Petszo delivery, please keep the following in mind:

  • Edibles: Keep food and treats tightly sealed and stored in a cool, dry environment.
  • Fabrics & Beds: Gently wipe clean or wash at 30ºC (always check the individual label first). Do not bleach.
  • Safety First: Regularly check toys and accessories for damage and remove them if broken.
  • Note: Always refer to the specific packaging for exact instructions.

Getting the most out of your Petszo order comes down to storing things properly and checking them regularly. Here's what matters.

Food and treats

Keep dry food tightly sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Resealing the bag or transferring it to an airtight container helps stop the fats going stale, which is the usual reason a dog or cat suddenly goes off a food they previously liked.

Opened wet food should be covered and refrigerated, and used within about 24 hours. Serve it at room temperature rather than straight from the fridge — cold food is noticeably less appealing to most pets and can be harder on sensitive stomachs.

Many treat pouches contain a small oxygen absorber sachet to keep the contents fresh. This isn't edible — remove and discard it before giving your pet the treat.

Beds, blankets and fabric items

Most fabric items can be gently wiped clean or machine washed at 30°C, but always check the individual care label first — padding and covers vary between products. Don't use bleach, as residue can irritate skin and paws.

Removable covers are worth washing more often than you'd think, particularly for pets with skin sensitivities.

Toys and chews

Check toys and accessories regularly for damage, and remove anything that's cracked, split or losing pieces. Small fragments are a genuine choking and blockage risk.

Always supervise your pet with chews and rawhide products, and take away any piece small enough to be swallowed whole. Match the chew size to your pet — a chew intended for a small dog won't last long with a large one, and creates more risk.

Harnesses, collars and leads

Check the fit periodically, especially on growing puppies and kittens. As a rule you should be able to slide two fingers comfortably under any strap — tighter risks rubbing, looser risks your pet backing out of it.

Inspect stitching, buckles and clips for wear, and replace anything showing damage before it fails on a walk.

Litter trays and small pet enclosures

Scoop clumping litter daily and top up as needed; a full change every 1–2 weeks is typical, more often with several cats sharing a tray. Clean the tray itself with hot water and mild detergent rather than strong disinfectants, some of which are toxic to cats.

For small pet enclosures, spot-clean soiled bedding daily and do a full change weekly.

Switching foods

Introduce any new food gradually over roughly 7–10 days, mixing increasing amounts into the current food. Sudden changes are one of the most common causes of digestive upset, and it's easily avoided.

Always check the product packaging. The guidance here is general — individual products carry their own storage, washing and feeding instructions, and those take precedence. If you're unsure about something, or your pet has a specific health condition, speak to your vet.

Delivery

How long will my order take to arrive?

We aim to dispatch orders within 1–7 business days of you placing them. Delivery time after dispatch depends on the shipping method chosen at checkout. You'll receive tracking details by email once your order is on its way, so you can follow its progress with the carrier.

Do you offer free delivery?

Yes — delivery is free on all UK orders over £59.99. Orders below that threshold are charged at the rate shown at checkout before you pay.

Where do you deliver?

We currently deliver within the United Kingdom only. We don't ship internationally at present. Please note that a small number of items are shipped from outside the UK and may take a little longer to arrive — this is noted on the individual product page where it applies.

What if my order is late?

Carrier delays occasionally happen, particularly around public holidays or in bad weather. If your order hasn't arrived within the expected timeframe, get in touch with your order number and we'll chase it. If a package is confirmed lost or significantly delayed by the courier, we'll send a replacement or issue a refund.

How do I track my order?

Once your order ships, we email you tracking details. Use these to check live delivery status directly with the carrier.

Returns & refunds

Can I return something if I change my mind?

Yes. Under UK consumer law you have 14 days from receiving your order to tell us you'd like to cancel, and a further 14 days to send the items back. Items need to be unused, in their original packaging and in the condition you received them. Return postage for change-of-mind returns is at your cost. Full details are in our Refund & Return Policy.

What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?

We'll put it right. Under UK law you have up to 30 days to reject a faulty item for a full refund. For transit damage, contact us ideally within 48 hours of delivery with photos of both the item and the packaging. We cover return postage on faulty or incorrect items and will offer a full refund or a replacement.

Are there items I can't return?

For hygiene and safety reasons, opened or unsealed pet food and treats, used grooming products, personalised items and gift cards can't be returned unless they're faulty.

How long do refunds take?

Once we've received and inspected your return, we'll let you know whether it's approved. Approved refunds are processed within 14 days of us receiving the goods, back to your original payment method.

Can I cancel an order before it ships?

Yes — email support@petszo.co.uk with your order number any time before dispatch. If it's already gone out, you can return it under the 14-day change-of-mind period once it arrives.

Products

Do I need a prescription for veterinary diets?

No prescription is legally required in the UK to buy veterinary diet foods. However, these products are formulated for diagnosed conditions, so we strongly recommend speaking to your vet before starting one — and having your pet checked at least every six months while feeding it. If your pet's health worsens, seek veterinary advice straight away.

How should I switch my pet to a new food?

Gradually, over roughly 7–10 days. Mix a small amount of the new food into the current one and increase the proportion each day. Switching abruptly is a common cause of digestive upset.

How do I store pet food once it's open?

Keep dry food in a cool, dry place, ideally resealed or in an airtight container to stop the fats going stale. Opened wet food should go in the fridge and be used within about 24 hours. Always check the individual packaging, as some products have specific requirements.

Shipping & Returns

Last updated: 16 August 2026

This policy explains how we process, dispatch and deliver orders, and what to do if something goes wrong.

1. Delivery charges

Delivery is free on all UK orders over £59.99. For orders below that value, the delivery charge is calculated and shown at checkout before you complete your purchase — you'll never be charged an amount you haven't seen first.

2. Order processing and dispatch

We aim to dispatch orders within 1–7 business days of the order being placed. Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding UK public holidays.

Once your order has been processed you'll receive a confirmation email, followed by tracking details where available.

3. Delivery times

Time in transit after dispatch depends on the delivery method selected at checkout and your location. Total time to receive your order is therefore the dispatch window above plus the carrier's transit time.

A small number of products are shipped from outside the UK and take longer to arrive. Where this applies, it is stated clearly on the individual product page.

4. Delivery area

We currently deliver within the United Kingdom only. We do not offer international shipping at present.

Please note that a small number of bulky items cannot be delivered to Northern Ireland. Where this restriction applies, it is noted on the product page.

5. Tracking your order

Once your order ships, we'll email you tracking information where available. You can use this to check the live delivery status directly with the carrier.

6. Delays

Some delays are outside our control — carrier backlogs, severe weather, and public holidays being the most common. If your order hasn't arrived within the expected timeframe, please contact us with your order number and we'll investigate.

If a package is confirmed lost or significantly delayed by the courier, we will send a replacement or issue a refund.

7. Incorrect delivery addresses

Please check your delivery address carefully at checkout. If you spot a mistake, contact us immediately — we can usually correct it before dispatch. Once an order has shipped to an address you provided, we may not be able to recover it.

8. Contact us

For any questions about shipping or the status of an order:

Excellent product

I moved my cat onto this product just over 2 years ago and have been very extremely pleased with the results.

Cat couldn't get on with this one.

Thought try for my 10 year old cat who has tummy problems, and has many fur balls, which cause alot of trouble. I use alot of the vet canin range, which has been a game changer for her tummy, and use the hair ball biscuits, which she loves, but this one makes her sick. All cats get on with different foods, so not that this is rubbish, but not tailored to her stomach.

My cat loves this food

My cat loves this food and she is vomiting much less. She was being sick almost daily, often with a huge hairball as she over grooms and is not a long haired cat. I give her a couple of teaspoons at a time and she can't get enough of the food. The gravy is the draw I think but I will continue as this is helping with the hairballs, more so than the dry anti hairball I was buying before.

new cat!!!!

Ragdoll Cross therefore quite a few furballs - that has definitely declined. \nAdded bonus is that she loves this food (I was feeding her Royal Canin dry food which she now won't entertain the thought of eating) she is a changed girl - jumping to catch butterflies etc. she is a 7 year old indoor cat who walks outside on a harness. its expensive but she is worth it :-)

Problem solved!!

After an emergency visit to the vet with our aged cat we dreaded the worst when vet diagnosed a bowel blockage. I took time off to nurse her at home. She wouldn’t eat or drink & just laid in her igloo. I gave her meds & water from a syringe. 3 days later she began to creep out of her igloo but still refused to eat. Then I tried Royal Canin Hairball! She took to it straight away & on 4th day the blockage cleared!! 2 wks later she is a new cat & absolutely loves her new food! Thank you Royal Canin

Fussiest cat I’ve ever had loves this

My cat has only ever only eaten Royal Canin sterilised in gravy (after kitten food) & won’t eat anything else, not even the jelly version or fresh roast chicken or lamb, so didn’t think he’d touch the hairball in gravy. -How wrong was I, he adores it! Touch wood, no hairballs since.

Cat says very tasty

My cat loves this wet food, helps with hairballs.

Never seen anything like it!

My 13 year old Ragdoll boy hoovered up this food like he'd never seen food before!! My 21 year old son and I literally had to get out of the way, with our mouths hanging open. Today is the first time he's tried these pouches (he has a daily mix of biscuits: Royal Canin Ragdoll and Royal Canin Hairball), but I'm hopeful this will have a positive effect on those relentless hairballs he keeps vomiting up and keep his fluid intake up.

It really does what they claim.

Amazing reduction in hair balls, essential for keeping HER in good health and reducing our bad tempered grooming sessions!

Too good

I have four cats, two of them eat the sachets and the other two eat the croquettes, so I buy some of both and everyone's a winner

Excellent

My exotic shorthair gobbles them up ! She has stopped vomiting . I highly recommend this product

Very good

I have been giving this to my cats since day dot. They eat it with no complaints, even though it doesn't smell particularly appetising. One of my cats has very long hair and used to cough up hairballs all the time. With this food I saw an ASTONISHING improvement!

Excellent

Perfect!\nMy 4 babies love it, even more than they liked the Beauty range ;)\nI strongly recommend it !

Perfect for long-hair

My rescue Persians are thriving on this food. They like it and they are much more comfortable digesting the inevitable fur.

Cat loves kitten instinctive in gravy

This is a firm favourite with my cat, to the point that she tries to climb up me in an attempt to get to it quicker, so the marks are based on her love for it.\nHowever I would like more information regarding the composition of the product like the percentage of meat, cereals and vegatables as this is not given which makes me wonder why????

Brilliant!

My 12 year old tuxedo cat has been finicky on her food for a few weeks...she'd eat part of her wet food and then leave the rest. She wouldn't even go back to it. But I fed her a pouch of this earlier, and she wolfed it down! I think we've found the right wet food for her and will be ordering again.

Lorna
They are most excited about this food!

At last I've found a quality food for our two kitties. They were rescued at 6 months and after a year I still felt 1 was a little undernourished. I chose this Royal Canin Kitten Instinctive with Gravy and they could not believe their luck. They are looking far pouffier and fluffier fur wise with nice soft shiny coats and bright eyes. The 1 who was on the thinner side is now looking far less scrawny!! \n\nI don't feel dry food alone was suiting them. I feel this is reasonably priced and I only give 1 quarter of pouch each of this twice a day so 1 pouch a day between 2 of them is enough to satisfy their hunger alongside the delicious Royal Canin biscuits. This brand is amazing - they sniff at other brands even the other "posher" kinds!! Do give this a try for your cats/kittens - you won't regret it!

No waste

I have two cats and my Oriental is a very fussy eater. She likes to lick the jelly or gravy and leave the chunks, which usually results in lots of wasted, dried-up meat. With this Royal Canin food she eats the lot, so although it is expensive it is also good value for money.

New kittens first food!

My mum-in-law's new kitten named Taffy was very uneasy about eating solid first at first but dove strait in on this wet food! Once he had realised the bowl wasn't that scary anyway. he is not a massive fan of dry food but loves this wet food. reordering more for the hungry bugger now so he stays happy. Amazing quality well priced product!

very good

Our cat is a bit overweight and we tried Royal Canning ultra light to help her to go back to her normal self. She has an injury and is not very active. She loves this wet food and it keeps her full for a quite sometime compare to other foods. And she is losing weight now.
