Over 5kg 3

This is a supplementary food and should be fed alongside a complete wet or dry diet.

Frequently asked questions

Should this replace my cat's usual food entirely?
No — it's a supplementary food, best fed alongside a complete diet rather than as a sole source of nutrition.

Why choose 70g cans over the 156g size?
Smaller cans mean less waste for cats that don't finish a larger portion in one sitting, and they're a practical way to sample multiple flavours.

Is the broth safe for cats to drink?
Yes — the broth is part of the recipe and contributes meaningfully to your cat's daily fluid intake, which is worth encouraging especially in cats that don't drink much on their own.

Care

General Care & Storage
To get the most out of your Petszo delivery, please keep the following in mind:

  • Edibles: Keep food and treats tightly sealed and stored in a cool, dry environment.
  • Fabrics & Beds: Gently wipe clean or wash at 30ºC (always check the individual label first). Do not bleach.
  • Safety First: Regularly check toys and accessories for damage and remove them if broken.
  • Note: Always refer to the specific packaging for exact instructions.

Getting the most out of your Petszo order comes down to storing things properly and checking them regularly. Here's what matters.

Food and treats

Keep dry food tightly sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Resealing the bag or transferring it to an airtight container helps stop the fats going stale, which is the usual reason a dog or cat suddenly goes off a food they previously liked.

Opened wet food should be covered and refrigerated, and used within about 24 hours. Serve it at room temperature rather than straight from the fridge — cold food is noticeably less appealing to most pets and can be harder on sensitive stomachs.

Many treat pouches contain a small oxygen absorber sachet to keep the contents fresh. This isn't edible — remove and discard it before giving your pet the treat.

Beds, blankets and fabric items

Most fabric items can be gently wiped clean or machine washed at 30°C, but always check the individual care label first — padding and covers vary between products. Don't use bleach, as residue can irritate skin and paws.

Removable covers are worth washing more often than you'd think, particularly for pets with skin sensitivities.

Toys and chews

Check toys and accessories regularly for damage, and remove anything that's cracked, split or losing pieces. Small fragments are a genuine choking and blockage risk.

Always supervise your pet with chews and rawhide products, and take away any piece small enough to be swallowed whole. Match the chew size to your pet — a chew intended for a small dog won't last long with a large one, and creates more risk.

Harnesses, collars and leads

Check the fit periodically, especially on growing puppies and kittens. As a rule you should be able to slide two fingers comfortably under any strap — tighter risks rubbing, looser risks your pet backing out of it.

Inspect stitching, buckles and clips for wear, and replace anything showing damage before it fails on a walk.

Litter trays and small pet enclosures

Scoop clumping litter daily and top up as needed; a full change every 1–2 weeks is typical, more often with several cats sharing a tray. Clean the tray itself with hot water and mild detergent rather than strong disinfectants, some of which are toxic to cats.

For small pet enclosures, spot-clean soiled bedding daily and do a full change weekly.

Switching foods

Introduce any new food gradually over roughly 7–10 days, mixing increasing amounts into the current food. Sudden changes are one of the most common causes of digestive upset, and it's easily avoided.

Always check the product packaging. The guidance here is general — individual products carry their own storage, washing and feeding instructions, and those take precedence. If you're unsure about something, or your pet has a specific health condition, speak to your vet.

Delivery

How long will my order take to arrive?

We aim to dispatch orders within 1–7 business days of you placing them. Delivery time after dispatch depends on the shipping method chosen at checkout. You'll receive tracking details by email once your order is on its way, so you can follow its progress with the carrier.

Do you offer free delivery?

Yes — delivery is free on all UK orders over £59.99. Orders below that threshold are charged at the rate shown at checkout before you pay.

Where do you deliver?

We currently deliver within the United Kingdom only. We don't ship internationally at present. Please note that a small number of items are shipped from outside the UK and may take a little longer to arrive — this is noted on the individual product page where it applies.

What if my order is late?

Carrier delays occasionally happen, particularly around public holidays or in bad weather. If your order hasn't arrived within the expected timeframe, get in touch with your order number and we'll chase it. If a package is confirmed lost or significantly delayed by the courier, we'll send a replacement or issue a refund.

How do I track my order?

Once your order ships, we email you tracking details. Use these to check live delivery status directly with the carrier.

Returns & refunds

Can I return something if I change my mind?

Yes. Under UK consumer law you have 14 days from receiving your order to tell us you'd like to cancel, and a further 14 days to send the items back. Items need to be unused, in their original packaging and in the condition you received them. Return postage for change-of-mind returns is at your cost. Full details are in our Refund & Return Policy.

What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?

We'll put it right. Under UK law you have up to 30 days to reject a faulty item for a full refund. For transit damage, contact us ideally within 48 hours of delivery with photos of both the item and the packaging. We cover return postage on faulty or incorrect items and will offer a full refund or a replacement.

Are there items I can't return?

For hygiene and safety reasons, opened or unsealed pet food and treats, used grooming products, personalised items and gift cards can't be returned unless they're faulty.

How long do refunds take?

Once we've received and inspected your return, we'll let you know whether it's approved. Approved refunds are processed within 14 days of us receiving the goods, back to your original payment method.

Can I cancel an order before it ships?

Yes — email support@petszo.co.uk with your order number any time before dispatch. If it's already gone out, you can return it under the 14-day change-of-mind period once it arrives.

Products

Do I need a prescription for veterinary diets?

No prescription is legally required in the UK to buy veterinary diet foods. However, these products are formulated for diagnosed conditions, so we strongly recommend speaking to your vet before starting one — and having your pet checked at least every six months while feeding it. If your pet's health worsens, seek veterinary advice straight away.

How should I switch my pet to a new food?

Gradually, over roughly 7–10 days. Mix a small amount of the new food into the current one and increase the proportion each day. Switching abruptly is a common cause of digestive upset.

How do I store pet food once it's open?

Keep dry food in a cool, dry place, ideally resealed or in an airtight container to stop the fats going stale. Opened wet food should go in the fridge and be used within about 24 hours. Always check the individual packaging, as some products have specific requirements.

Shipping & Returns

Last updated: 16 August 2026

This policy explains how we process, dispatch and deliver orders, and what to do if something goes wrong.

1. Delivery charges

Delivery is free on all UK orders over £59.99. For orders below that value, the delivery charge is calculated and shown at checkout before you complete your purchase — you'll never be charged an amount you haven't seen first.

2. Order processing and dispatch

We aim to dispatch orders within 1–7 business days of the order being placed. Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding UK public holidays.

Once your order has been processed you'll receive a confirmation email, followed by tracking details where available.

3. Delivery times

Time in transit after dispatch depends on the delivery method selected at checkout and your location. Total time to receive your order is therefore the dispatch window above plus the carrier's transit time.

A small number of products are shipped from outside the UK and take longer to arrive. Where this applies, it is stated clearly on the individual product page.

4. Delivery area

We currently deliver within the United Kingdom only. We do not offer international shipping at present.

Please note that a small number of bulky items cannot be delivered to Northern Ireland. Where this restriction applies, it is noted on the product page.

5. Tracking your order

Once your order ships, we'll email you tracking information where available. You can use this to check the live delivery status directly with the carrier.

6. Delays

Some delays are outside our control — carrier backlogs, severe weather, and public holidays being the most common. If your order hasn't arrived within the expected timeframe, please contact us with your order number and we'll investigate.

If a package is confirmed lost or significantly delayed by the courier, we will send a replacement or issue a refund.

7. Incorrect delivery addresses

Please check your delivery address carefully at checkout. If you spot a mistake, contact us immediately — we can usually correct it before dispatch. Once an order has shipped to an address you provided, we may not be able to recover it.

8. Contact us

For any questions about shipping or the status of an order:

Tried first time

Neither cat will eat it. \nThey’ve gone off everything I buy. Purina. Royal canin. Concept for Life. Cosmo.

All my 3 cats love this food. But I’m very disappointed in the condition the tins arrive in. I order this cat food every few weeks from PetsZo and nearly every order several tins arrive mishaped with extremely large dents. Some look crushed. \nPetsZo have refunded/ replaced damaged tins. But they really need to look into why they are reaching the customer in this condition, even after I’ve complained. This is an inconvenience, when all I want is for my cats food to arrive in good condition.

My go-to

Order the mixed selection of these every month for my cat who I was struggling to get eat at meal times. Now he loves his food and leaves nothing left in his bowl!

Cat loves the chicken / Chicken and cheese

One of the cats favourites but a bit expensive. He mostly has kibble with one meat meal a day which we sprinkle seaweed powder on for his teeth. This and the greenwoods equivalent come out when he's in a fussy mood.

Applaws fish collection

my lad loves the fish collection he always finishes it , my only gripe is he also likes the tuna and crab but you have to buy it seperately 🙁

Good

My Ragdoll went off wet food for a few months, until I introduced applaws chicken and duck, I've tried her with a few of the other flavours, but she turns her nose up at them. The fish ones have whole prawns in and look a bit more worth the value, as it's not the cheapest food. But she will only eat the chicken and duck, there's barely any duck in there (5%) which is disappointing, most of it is shredded chicken and there's only a few strands of duck, which is why I've knocked a star off.

supplementary food

It is stated quite clearly it is not a complete food "supplementary" is the same thing. It's a treat in a bowl. I feed my cats mainly complete biscuits so this is nice and juicy first thing they' re very happy to have it and never eat a lot of it but they do love it.

My babies love this food

They cant get enough of this food. This is a favourite along with the fish

Post-operative food

This is NOT a complete food and it says so clearly. \n\nOne of my cats has just undergone an operation to remove cancerous growths. The vet kindly provided a 'Recovery Pack' of Royal Canin gastro-intestinal wet food. I already have a supply of these pouches but none of my cats will eat it. Concerned that I need to provide a bland food for my cat, I turned to Applaws Chicken in Broth. She ate it with relish. She is served 1/3 tin 3 x daily + Royal Canin Urinary kibble and is doing well.

Not a complete food?

This does not look like a complete food to me. Cats should be eating bone and organ. there is only breast meat in these. without dark meat such as heart, thighs, game, etc there is no taurine in the diet from dark meat.Your cat needs 5-10% to be organ (not counting heart) such as liver, kidney etc. What is the rice for? Cats are obligate carnivores why would you feed them rice? The cat food is great as a complementary food only.

wonderfull food!

we literally sit and watch out cat devouring his daily tin. It is well worth the money seeing how much he enjoys it. He has hills science plan dried food for his second meal. His current favourite is the sardine and mackerel. Its lovely and juicy! The dogs try to lick any excess off his whiskers afterwards, but he rarely leaves much he washes them quickly to get every bit.

Excellent, natural food.

I feed my cats a mixture of natural, real meat foods (such as Applaws) alongside some complete dry food (which I put in the bowl at the same time). Some of the real meat foods are complementary and not complete, so remember to read the labels and make sure you always add some that is marked as 'complete'. \nI believe in feeding foods that are not full of highly processed meat by-products and I must say that my cats are in excellent condition! They are of a healthy weight and their skin and fur is excellent (no dandruff). If I were to make one criticism about this product is that it isn't organic, so for non-organic food it's quite expensive. But, saying that, I feel it's one of the best foods on the market.

A good tasty treat but not complete.

Applaws is a nice treat that my Norwegian forest cat and Abyssinian really enjoy but both the pouches and tins are not complete . If you look on the back of the tins you will see that the ingredients are pure free range meat with broth and no added vitimans or taurine which is what makes it complementary. If you wanted your cats meals to be complete you could of course feed dry food alongside the applaws.

The best wet cat food.

Applaws is the only wet food our cats will consistently eat. We have tried other brands just for variety and the cats will only eat them for a week or two so we always end up back on Applaws. In the 4 years since we got our cats I have never had a single tin of Applaws that didn't seem top quality, it is always 100%. We always buy the 24-tin saver packs because they are the best value. The only slight downside to Applaws wet food is that it isn't a 'complete' food so we have to make sure the cats also eat complete dry food too, which can occasionally be difficult. Overall I would recommend Applaws wet food to everyone simply because the cats do love it. A+++

Sachets are complementry, small tins and dry is complete

My cat has been very poorly with hyperthyroid and I looked for a better food after this and finding a piece of metal in a sachet of Whiskers food. She has had radioiodine treatment but has positively thrived on both the treatment and the good food. She looks so healthy after 3 weeks of it, her coat is gleaming and put on much needed weight & muscle. At first I only found the pouches but then discovered they were only complimentary food but when I visited pets at home I found senior complete tins and complete dry food. All my cats LOVE this food and I would highly recommend it.

My 12 week old kitten who is usually a bit cautious of new foods went nuts for this! Ate half a tin straight away. If only it came in bigger tins!

Not complete food

Our two ragdolls love this as a treat but after reading a few comments above thought I'd better mention this is not a complete food for cats. For excellent quality wet grain free food for cats check out Grau Grain Free, Bozita or have a look at Lily's Kitchen organic

Not the cheapest but the best

This food looks great and by the way our 4 British Shorthairs eat it, it tastes as good as it looks. We only feed cour cats the best and so it must be good.

fussy kitten

this is the only 'cat food' our 1 yr old kitten will eat. He has expensive tastes but buying in bulk from PetsZo has saved us money. Some tins have more brine than others. Well worth tryiog if like us you have extremely fussy feline friend.
